WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW:

Personal Mission Statement: Life is too short and is meant to include laughter. I strive to align myself with energetic people who love life as much as I do.

Passions after 5pm: Most outdoor activities, boating, my family beach place, walking, and Bellarmine Prep High School Football events.  Reading both historical and current events and attending  concerts, theater shows and trivia.

You’ll never catch me: Being a wallflower.

The bottom line: As the youngest of eight children and the father of four, I understand the importance good communication skills play in achieving personal and professional goals.

Professional Passion: Partnering with my clients to develop long-term relationships that contribute to them being the best they can be.

Professional Experience: Providing audit, accounting, tax and planning services to the construction, real estate, manufacturing, distribution and professional services industries since 1989.

Education: Washington State University, May 1989.

Memberships and Activities: WSCPA, AICPA, Rotary Club of University Place-Fircrest, former HopeSparks Family Services Board Member, Washington State University Alumni Association.

WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW:

Personal Mission Statement: Create a great balance in my life to enjoy both work and play as much as possible. Both need to include plenty of laughter.

Passions after 5pm: Travel, hiking, mountaineering, camping, running, movies, reading, golf and sports. Summited Mt. Rainier (twice), Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens. Favorite place to be is lounging around a campfire with family and friends.

You’ll never catch me: Missing watching the Masters.

The bottom line: The best thing about my job is being about to work with a diverse group of people both in our clients and in our staff at DP&C.

WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW:

Personal Mission Statement: Be thankful for life and the opportunities provided. Be passionate in everything I do, regardless of the circumstances. 

Passions after 5pm: Spending time with family, watching movies, running, giving back to my community, and attempting to hit golf balls.

You’ll never catch me: Period, because I’m too fast. I was a sprinter in high school and college.

The bottom line: I strive to always be myself, learn from others, and give back when I can. In addition, the AICPA’s National Commission on Diversity and Inclusion has allowed me to serve as a champion of diversity within the accounting profession. The formation of the Commission reflects a renewed focus on diversity within the profession and the need to increase the retention and advancement of underrepresented minorities to better reflect the clients and communities CPAs serve.

Zach Parsons, CPA

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Professional Passion:  Assisting clients succeed in their goals by learning about their wants and needs, offering solutions, and executing the game plan.

Experience: Have been with DP&C since 2008 serving various industries, which include construction, manufacturing, utility cooperatives and mutual companies, not-for-profits, and employee benefit plans.

Education: Pacific Lutheran University –Bachelor of Business Administration with concentrations in accounting and finance.

Memberships/Activities: WSCPA, AICPA, Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA)-current Member and past Director, Associated General Contractors (AGC), Palmer Scholars-past Treasurer, Business Examiner Media 40 under 40 Class of 2017 Honorees, former member of Tacoma Executives Association (TEA)

WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW:

Personal Mission Statement: Approach each day with a positive attitude, a little bit of laughter, and make the most out of it, as you’ll never get that day back.

Passions after 5: Anything related to sports in general, but specifically football (go Dawgs). I also enjoy playing with my 3 kids and traveling with my wife, whether it be jumping on plane to go far away or jumping in a car and exploring all that the PNW has to offer.

You’ll never catch me: Turning down food.

The bottom line: I truly enjoy the work I do, the people I work with, and the clients I serve.

Experience: With DP&C since 2011 providing audit, accounting, tax, and other advisory services, working in a wide range of industries including construction, real estate, not-for-profit, manufacturing, and professional services.

Passions after 5pm: Spending time with my husband Brendan and our four-legged family members, Polly, Mini, Lucy, and Willow… and being an advocate for the welfare of animals.

Professional Passion: To create a resourceful foundation for client knowledge and growth. Being able to enjoy client relationships and aid in their personal and professional success is vital.

Experience: I’ve been working mainly in the audit and assurance department since 2013, with special interests in not-for-profit, manufacturing and other various industries.  Tax interests include trusts, partnerships and research in Form 990s.

Education: Bachelor of Arts in Accounting at Western Washington University (2013), Masters in Accounting at University of Washington (2014)

WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW:

Personal Mission Statement: Doing what you like is freedom. Liking what you do is happiness.

Passions after 5PM:  Spending as much time with my two boys and husband as I can, watching volleyball, listening to the latest crime podcasts, and reading.
